How is this even possible? It was only 75 years ago, and that's just a spark in time. There are adults who don't know about the Holocaust? WTF!! How does one even begin to surmise the cause of this failure in education? Not only was it only 75 years ago, but it was World War 2!

Here's a little piece of history about the slave trade and complicity on the part of Thomas Jefferson. Also, bear in mind that this wealth was passed down and the family, because of this wealth, was highly esteemed.
Think of all the money made on the backs of others--whether in procuring slaves, in selling them, or in using them as free labor. 4 minute video in article.
We, certainly, weren't/aren't taught this.

On May 21, 1919, the house passed an Amendment to the Constitution granting women the right to vote.
