With all of the discussion about our UFCW International Union and the $20,000.00 dollar “stipend” our International Vice President’s receive as members of the UFCW I.U. Executive Board, I thought it would be an interesting to attempt to identify every individual who belongs to the UFCW I.U. $20K V.P. Club who are not in the primary employment of our International Union.

The purpose of this exercise is to determine which Local Union our V.P.’s represent, the total number of members within their Local Union, their title, including their DOL LM2 File Number, their respective yearly salary received from their Local Union in 2009 and their Local Union Website Link. With respect to the website link, where available, I wanted to provide a face to a name for our UFCW Leaders.

Let us now begin our journey to identify our UFCW I.U.’s $20,000.00 dollar V.P.Club for 2009.

For the rest of the story, please check out the following:

JB this is a very detailed and interesting piece you’ve done here! The amount of dues $$$ going out to these individuals is staggering!

It would be interesting to see exactly what the UFCW nation wide took in for the year 2009 in dues dollars then add up the total salaries for IU officers and employees then subtract that from total dues taken in and see just how much was left to do actual “union business” that benefitted the actual people(the dues paying members) fronting the bill for all these lavish lifestyles!

While we’re at it maybe someone can scan and post a page from their Collective Bargaining Agreement showing the wage scale layout for the average workers who are working under these CBA’s paying all the monthly dues that create such wonderful living standards that these UFCW officers enjoy on a daily basis!

Just doesn’t seem moral for the working poor to always be the ones to front the bill for the greedy elite does it?

Nice job JB, makes me sick to see ufcw's piggery.

Canadian ufcw members do not get to know how much they pay their leadership (the ultimate misnomer). Thanks to the LM2's we do know some get to dip their snout in the IU's trough.

A wild guess however would be that they take home far more than the following Grid B example. To my knowledge, Grid B members comprise no less than 50% of UFCW 1518's retail membership at this point, 75% in many and thanks to a handy dandy LOU in it's CBA the opportunity for employers to up those numbers.

The wage scales would vary slightly from ufcw jurisdiction to jurisdiction but if ufcw's pattern concession bargaining is any clue, not by very frigging much.

Whenever we analyze our UFCW Leaders Salaries, it is difficult to comprehend the obscene & unjustified salary some of our Leaders receive, including how their salaries compare with other officials. For comparison purposes, please check out the yearly salaries for the President of the United States, Vice President and other U.S. Officials. How are our UFCW Leader’s doing? Are they keeping up with inflation? What are your thoughts?

As my curiosity continues, I thought that we could take a “Peak Under the Covers” and compare our UFCW I.U. Leadership’s 2009 Salaries to that of all five (5) International Union Leaders Salaries that currently comprise the Change To Win.

First, here is some history as to how Change To Win was started:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Change_to_Win_Federation

Change to Win consists of five affiliated unions.

•International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT)
Website: http://www.teamster.org/

•Laborers'International Union of North America (LIUNA)
Website: http://www.liuna.org/

•Service Employees International Union (SEIU)
Website: http://www.seiu.org/

•United Farm Workers of America (UFW)
Website: http://www.ufw.org/

•United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW)

To review the Change To Win LM2 Reports: File #000-385

Additionally, for your information here is the Website Link for the AFL-CIO to review which Unions are currently affiliated with that organization:

To review the AFL-CIO LM2 Reports: File #000-106

• Laborers’ International Union (LIUNA)
DOL LM2 File #000-131

• Service Employees International Union (SEIU)

• United Farm Workers (UFW)
DOL LM2 File #000-323

• United Food & Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW)
DOL LM2 File #000-056

Note: Since I do not know each International Union’s specific policy as it pertains to each Union Leader’s expenses, allowances, etc., I will be using their “total amount” of monies listed on their LM2 Report. Please refer to their respective yearly LM2 report for their “detailed amount” of allowances, disbursements, etc.

Note: I apologize in advance for any inadvertent errors or omissions and the applicable LM2 Report for each Union Leader shall govern.

For the record, I obtained the LM2 Salary Information directly from the respective International Union’s 2009 LM2 Report. You will find the individuals in question listed under, Schedule 11 - All Officers & Disbursements to Officers.

I just wanted to highlight the ^^above^^ LIUNA piggery as I was afraid ufcw dudes might overlook it. Two LIUNA machine heads siphoning a million dollars plus of their members' money makes Hansen's and Perrone's combined half-mil (that we see) siphon job look like chicken feed compared to. You can't buy that kind of PR.

After reviewing our UFCW I.U. LM2 Report and numerous Local Union LM2 Reports, including numerous Local Union website’s, the vicious cycle of greed from within our I.U. Leadership including most of our Local Union Leadership must stop immediately!

If the cycle of greed does not stop immediately, the UFCW as an organization will implode from within & self-destruct. Our dues paying members within the UFCW cannot continue to sustain the “dues increases” being levied against them by the UFCW I.U. (per capita tax increases) and then by their Local Unions passing the I.U.’s Per Capita Tax increases on to their respective memberships.

Subsequently, it is our UFCW members who pay their Local Union dues that ultimately subsidize the aforementioned UFCW I.U. / Local Union Leaders obscene & unjustified salaries!

As a follow up, I have been following a similar story concerning the obscene and unjustified salaries for Elected Officials in the City of Bell, California.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell,_California

What is so impressive about this entire ordeal is the fact that the Local Community became outraged and successfully took matters into their own hands. By doing such, they took back their City and forced salary reductions and resignations from their City Leadership.

Imagine just for a moment, the power that Union members possess “if” and “when” they decide to take matters into their own hands and start demanding accountability from their Union Leadership. Our Union Members, just like the citizens in Bell, Ca. have the power to take back their Union’s, including achieving salary reductions & resignations from their Union Leadership!

I hope that the following articles will inspire Union Members throughout the U.S. & Canada to start kicking some Union Leaders asses ASAP!

An extra 2 mil plus easy money siphoned via ufcw's credit card scam. And picks up about where the decline in membership leaves off. Sweet eh.

Staff enough to run a country, big salaried executive assistants and assistants_to enough to sink an ark, and the IU still needed ufcw canada's secretary? Not sure where one would begin ratcheting incompetence with so many layers but me thinks that 40 grand would have been better spent trying.

Freakin' jesus that is one big meal ticket ufcw members are picking up.
