Bill Pearson, retired president of UFCW local 789, justifies the use of the biz union label and suggests that it may not be accurate enough to encompass the actions of UFCW Local 588.

Which came first; the chickenshit or the egghead?

Not to take anything away from the appalling record of ufcw local 588 et al but the anomaly is festering. The jackass's in charge are labour's equivalent to the AIDS virus.

Here something to think about! Everyone involved with the 588 reform movement is or has been very ACTIVE in the union. Some were shop stewards, some activist and others that just were raised in a union house hold while growing up and new the importance of a strong union!

You would think that the mental midgets running local 588 could at least fiqure out that if they harnessed the engery and willingness to fight that us reformers have and used that engery to do positive things like trying to organize Walmarts and other non-union shops they could strengthen the unions moral and financial status! I personally have spent hours upon hours working on this reform and just think all those hours could have been spent doing volunteer organizing work for the local which wouldn't have cost the local a dime!

But NOOOO!!!!!! these dumb bastards will run around while on the members dime and harass and intimidate their own members just trying to prevent a election in the local to maintain their lavish life styles!

NEWS FLASH to local 588!!! If you glutenous bastards just would have done what WE members pay you to do in the first place(and in case you have forgotten) that would be REPRESENT US WORKERS FIRST! You would not be looking at a election to replace you now! Duh!!! Rolling Eyes

Do we believe they haven't figured it out? That energy is what frightens them LY. ufcw is (in)famous for shutting down anything which resembles solidairty or unity.

Check out the local sites - it's ufcw standard rhetoric. Check out canadian ufcw nepotism. Ok the lovealls have bigger families and sundin's bodyguard is a woman but not much else separates them or the results.

Union Brothers and Sisters:
03/08/06

Yesterday I was notified by phone, and today by mail, I have a scheduled arbitration date: March 29 at the Food Employers Council office in San Ramon, California.

Should a fair representation take place, I expect to be reinstated. I will submit a brief to Steve Stemmerman’s office (595 Market St. Suite 1400 San Francisco CA 94105) to be added to post hearing briefs.

The past several weeks I have been campaigning in the Sacramento area at the request of Mr. “RankN’File” and have been very well received. Leaving HUNDREDS of newletters and leaflets in the hands of local 588 members.

UFCW Local 588 must be feeling a March heat wave as Business Reps (John Micheletti) have been taking our newsletters out of the breakrooms and away from members, as allegedly happened at Bel Air #515. Ray Kristoff calls a meeting of Save Mart truck drivers to warn them about distributing our literature on company time. This coming from a Business Reps who made (what?) $95,000 and $92,000 respectively last year! These are special talents!

Beware gentlemen! All we need is a brave union members to provide evidence of harassment or intimidation. A call will be made to the DOL!
