The very notion of a superpower is in tatters. People all over the world are seeing the enormous hypocrisy behind the power game Washington has been playing with increasing recklessness and incompetence for the past half century.

Scary read when the author puts the story in context and takes each thread and weaves it together to form a coat of many colors. Indeed, we Americans all too often see ourselves as an entity above and beyond the rest of the world; and certainly better than the rest of it.

At one point we were a nation that by appearance had it all. Today, the multi-national corporations that manage and direct our politicians are the ones we need fear. Everyone to them is just a bit player in the accumulation of wealth and power.

The author is on target, the goal to control it all is beyond on any one entity...the problem is the arrogance of a handful will always believe it is within their reach...which may well someday bring about the end of the world as we know it.

Bill, it is scary, and we hold the responsibility for allowing this sham to continue for so long. Arrogance and greed, fed by unbridled power, is no longer socially sustainable and the people are beginning to realize that we've been unwitting accomplices in this corporate scam against the entire world.

The loss of trust in our elected leaders and their corporate lip service has done more to undermine our fantasy world than any other reason in my opinion. We are guilty by association as our so-called leaders continue to commit atrocities on a worldly scale. And to stand against these atrocities and speak the truth makes me un-patriotic and anti-american I'm told. Well, so be it! If that's what it takes to bring justice, equality, and integrity back to this country and it's people, then I'll wear the label of an un-patriotic anti-american with dignity and pride!
