The gop can now say the movement to "modernize" multi-employer pension plans (Union Pensions) is bipartsan (both the right and the left agree) thanks to the secret, cut throat move by george miller (D. Ca.) made just before his retirement in December of last year. (Miller had such a brilliant career and was always a loyal friend of labor. I guess, he was a friend of labor, but not of Union Members. Sad that, before he retired, he sullied his reputation with that knife in the back to the unions membership--both active, but especially, those that already have retired. Interestingly, lucky/savemart was prominent at the table the last time this group of burglars met. (Remember ufcw was on board with retiree pension reductions from day one and ufcw president hanson wrote a letter to congress last december encouraging change in ERISA law that would allow substantial retiree pension reductions (you can be sure it will not affect him or anyone with an international pension)
Anyway, retirees, they are coming for your money.

If you go to the link OTO provided and decide to watch the webcast of the gov't committee meeting be aware that you will have to fast forward the video to 39:54 or yowill have to wait 39 minutes for the meetin to start.
in these meetings not one retiree advocacy group has been asked or allowed to testify before this committee. If you really want to have your mind blown check out this link www.iramarketreport.com/pension-plan-clawbacks-becoming-more-common-in-u-s/293/

The Push is on. What will American retirees have in common with Greek Retirees(?)-----Extreme Poverty and the fear of losing housing, or possibly, hunger---among others poverty related issues. Again, thank you george miller (D) of of California for the knife in the back to union retirees in a back room deal with john boehner (r) in december of '14 (this allowed the claim of bipartition agreement). This, of course, came just after the president of the ufcw international union wrote a letter to congress asking for union pensions to be reduced....and that's just before he retired. Of course, your piece of shit union did not tell any member or retiree this plan was in action. So much for Solidarity, huh. Obviously, the new international president, marc perrone, is silent on this important issue......except to vomit the tired Solidarity line of bullshit.

Prepare for the worst.

Here's some of the progression in the deteriorating condition of multi-employer pensions, especially regarding cuts for those already collecting pension checks. As I said earlier, it looks like the Teamsters Central States is going down. We'll see soon, I think, but, for sure, they are in they are in a world of shit. And, because they receive some pretty healthy checks, they are going to feel the cuts big time. Of course, any plans that are critical (in the red) are in danger.
Anyway, the plan is being put to into action. Oh, you'll see in the article that Feinberg is doing this pro bono (for free) because he said in an article I read earlier that he doesn't want to take any money from the already suffering funds.

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/18/business/dealbook/kenneth-feinberg-to-oversee-cuts-in-multiemployer-pension-plans.html?_r=1

Now this from the PBGC. (guide lines)

http://www.pbgc.gov/prac/pg/mpra/kline-miller-multiemployer-pension-reform-act-of-2014-faqs.html

I just don't get why nobody is talking about this (I mean media). This could so, profoundly, affect so many people (and the economy, as well), and yet, it flies under the radar.

Early on, I emailed his Contact address to ask about this pension debacle. Also, the guy in Iowa,(can't recall his name right now, (D)retired, Tom Harkin, I think. He's the one who originally initiated this process in congress) and no one responded. Anyway, looks like the teamster retirees have his attention now, Bernie, that is. Too little, too late? Congress, the industry, and the unions are on a tear to make this happen. Like I posted earlier, they changed ERISA law to allow it to go.

Again I Must Ask--Why the fuck hasn't ufcw made even a whisper to their members concerning this issue. Not anyone at the international level, even after the last international president,as he was retiring (hanson) wrote a letter to congress asking pension law be changed to allow for these cuts to commence--down to the local level;not one union president has mentioned it and they continue to allow members to retire believing they would get that monthly check, unmolested.

I'm double posting this here and the Bernie Sanders thread) because I want Everyone to see/read/be aware of this. Bernie targets protection for retirees of multi-employer (union) pension plans.
