This really shouldn’t surprise anyone. It would seem that the first step in training a soldier is to teach him to disregard the humanity of others. It does make for an efficient “fighting machine”, but it also creates some seriously f***ed-up human beings.

Yeah what makes a person go there.

Being military is like a license to be out of control. The more people you take out the bigger the hero you become. Shoot, kill and maim people and there's a medal of honour in it for you.

Out of all the misguided military minds, my faves are the moms and dads who, when their son or daughter are brought back in body bags, say how proud they are because their child died doing what they loved, what they believed in. It's simply a bizarre mindset.
