There is a direct link between the Arab world demanding jobs, the southern Europeans taking to the streets, the British protesters, the Shanghai truckers strike and the workers demonstrating in Wisconsin.

The links are free trade for capital but not for labour, the elite receiving in greater gains at the expense of the majority and how all the "authoritative" voices say that there is nothing that can be done to prevent this.

The North American people still do not understand that until their income drops to third-world standards, the cuts will just keep on coming.

If I am right, then American and Canadian incomes for all but the rich will drop far, far lower than where they are now.

In China, a skilled tradesman on the assembly lines that builds Buick or Toyota cars cannot afford to buy a car. That is where we are heading unless something revolutionary happens in America.

A one day or one week protest will not be nearly enough.

Unfazed by the rebellion that has shaken their state since February, Republican legislators in Wisconsin seem determined to push through every aspect of the right-wing agenda they can lay a pen to.

The state Assembly called an “extraordinary session” yesterday—which would allow legislators to limit debate and amendments—in order to pass an onerous budget. Unions and supporters brought 5,000 protesters inside and outside the Capitol.

5,000 protesters showed up in Wisconsin. Big deal. The bus companies, local motels and fast joints made a bit of money off of them. What did they do? Did they hold their breath until they turned blue?

Check the international news. How are the protesters in Egypt, Spain, Greece, Syria, Yemen demanding change?

Dump your union leadership and turn to the young. Work with the university students. church activists and community activists.

Get creative with civil disobedience. Flood the courts with everything from fighting every parking ticket to demanding jury trials for every little thing you can think of.

Maybe you should litter the streets. Graffiti the cities. Drive slow on the freeways and major streets during rush hour. Create new methods of civil disobedience in new creative ways.

Make normal life for the rich and the powerful in Wisconsin a little more difficult than it now is.

Opponents of Ohio Governor John Kasich’s push to strip public employees of collective bargaining rights—as part of a national push by newly elected Republican governors to silence opposition to their cuts in funding for public education and services — needed to collect 231,000 valid signatures to force a referendum that would override anti-labor legislation enacted by Kasich and his allies.

That was a tall order. But the labor and community groups that have come together to defend public employees, teachers, schools and services have exceeded it —

After tens of millions of dollars spent by outside interest groups, dozens of attack ads and exhaustive get-out-the-vote efforts, Democrats on Tuesday fell short of their goal of taking control of the state Senate and stopping the agenda of Gov. Scott Walker.

Light weight, works indoors and outdoors and the mic check is environmentally friendly - no batteries, no electricity, no waste.
