So i have a new rumour. Suppliers have been asked to stock their own products on Save On Food shelves in Vancouver.

Any input from.a 1518 insider?

Long time no hear from 3E, how are you.

It's not rocket science, in short; vendors can do 1518 members' work. Can they get away with it would the bigger question. So far it would seem they can/are and nothing much to stop them. The how so is interesting and based on my experience I do have an opinion. I'm just on my way out so I will have to wait to share.

I'm well thanks Sharon. Summer is slow and I am following suit. Self employment means client calls reduce so cash burn must reduce to follow (good and bad).

It also means fanning the coals and reconnecting with old clients, which is where I got the word that a "supplier" contact was given notice that they will be using their staff to stock shelves.

Is this seen as a harbinger or did Save-On just say "piss in a bottle" to 1518?

Looking forward to hearing.

Both. If contract language provides that any and all unresolvable disputes, unrelated to employee grievances, can be referred to arbitration, and it happens that in-contract profit sensitive arbitrators are at the ready (pun intended), and sitting around waiting for the call, and that one third of that cost will be on the public purse, then you really don't need much more incentive to challenge contract language at every turn. In fact, if gutting contracts and busting unions was your goal, you'd be a dumb ass not to make it a morning routine.
