Looks like the cats out of the bag over at Local 5.
Quote: Once again, we've been provided with information "alleging" some very serious and questionable behavior by our Leadership / Executive Board at UFCW Local 5. Before we share the most recent "allegations" concerning UFCW Local 5, we thought it would be important to review how this all started.
Awhile back, we were provided with a letter written by Ron Lind , our President at UFCW Local 5 dated September 18, 2009. President Lind had written to John Heise, President of F.A.I.R. requesting "Contract Modifications". F.A.I.R. is the Union representing the Union Representatives and some of the Office Clerical at Local 5. Based on many Local 5 members outrage concerning our President, Ron Lind's September 18, 2009 letter, the following thread was started at www.uncharted.ca Fast forward a couple of months and we are now in the month of February 2010. We were "blown away" when we heard these most recent "rumors" / "allegations" concerning UFCW Local 5. According to numerous insiders at UFCW Local 5, President Lind and Local 5's Executive Board have "allegedly authorized" a "creative borrowing scheme" wherein Local 5 will "allegedly" borrow money from Local 5's "Strike Fund" to pay for the Greedy Scheme previously exposed with F.A.I.R., detailed in President Lind's 9/18/09 letter to Mr. Heise. As a I.U. V.P., President Lind receives a "stipend" in the amount of $20,000.00 per year. It is important to keep in mind that whatever UFCW Local 5's President Ron Lind, earns as his yearly salary at UFCW Local 5, you must also"add" and additional $20,000.00 dollars ( President Lind's UFCW I.U. / V.P. Stipend) to his Local 5 yearly salary. The combined figures will provide you with President Lind's total yearly salary. To follow up on 2009 salaries for UFCW Local 5's President Ron Lind & Tim Hamann here are the figures from the DOL. UFCW Local 5's File No. 543-632 Quote: Ron Lind $155,468.00 (gross) + $28,593.00 (disbursements) = $184,061.00 (Total)
Tim Hamann $117,500.00 (gross) + $23,227.00 (disbursements)= $140,727.00 (Total) Now all you have to do is add up all of the numbers and you can come to your own conclusions???? Keep in mind that "allegedly" for 2010 they just got another 3% -5% increase????? |

The following is a little tidbit from UFCW's wakeup walmart: Quote: A Substantial Number of Wal-Mart Associates earn below the federal poverty line
In 2008, the average full time Associate (34 hours per week) earns $10.84 hourly for an annual income of $19,165. That's $2,000 below the Federal Poverty Line for a family of four. [http://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty/08poverty.shtml] Last year, Wal-Mart CEO Lee Scott earned $29.7 million in total compensation, or 1,551 times the annual income of the average full time Wal-Mart Associate. [http://articles.latimes.com/2007/apr/20/business/fi-briefs20.6] Wal-Mart Associates don't earn enough to support a family Quote: A Substantial Number of UFCW members earn below the federal poverty line
In 2009, the average full-time member (40 hours per week) earned $400 dollars per week for an annual income of $20,800 (minus $20 per week average union dues). Approx. $2290 under the 2009 Federal Poverty Line of $22,050 for a family of four. [http://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty/09poverty.shtml] Last year, UFCW Local 5's President Ron Lind & Tim Hamann earned $344,788.00 in total compensation, or 17.5 times the annual income of the average full time union member. UFCW members don't earn enough to support a family _________________ Free speech is the whole thing, the whole ball game. Free speech is life itself. - Salman Rushdie |

Here's another example as to how our President @ UFCW Local 5, Ron Lind, has been successful in methodically raising his salary during the past six (6) years.
Here is President Lind's Salaries for the following years. I will only use the "gross" salary in the LM2 reports. Quote: President Ron Lind's LM2 (Salaries)
2004 ----- $99,559.00 (gross) (former UFCW Local 428) 2005 ----- $98,800.00 (gross) (former UFCW Local 428) 2006 ----- $100,700.00 (gross) (former UFCW Local 428) 2007 ----- $127,500.00 (gross) (UFCW Local 5) 2008 ----- $139,808.00 (gross) (UFCW Local 5) 2009 ----- $155,468.00 (gross) (UFCW Local 5) 2010 ----- Pending Now "if" you do the math, President Lind as seen fit to raise his salary $55,909.00 over these past six (6) years!!!!! As a dues paying member, check over your pay check stubs weekly, monthly & yearly, to determine you total wage / hourly increases for the years 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009?? |

I looked at my pay stubs and the answer is no. No, my ufcw union salary did not increase $55,909.00 dollars over the past 6 years. If I factor in cost of living increases and increased union dues, then in fact, my salary shrunk substantially. Factor in pension shrink and I would rather not talk about it.
Note to ufcw machine heads lurking within: Due to puke thresholds, the above uncharted salary comparisons have (thus far) been confined to ufcw leadership bottom feeders and do not reflect the big pig picture. _________________ Free speech is the whole thing, the whole ball game.
