We have lost a Brother and his sons.
Tony Bologna and his sons, Michael and Matthew, were murdered in an act of inexplicable and unconscionable violence this past Sunday afternoon, returning home in San Francisco from a family gathering in Fairfield. Tony was the night crew foreman at Draeger's Market in San Mateo and a member of UFCW Local 101. His sons were students at the College of San Mateo and Lincoln High School (San Francisco). Tony lived for his family and to coach the young people of other families. An arrest in this homicide has been made. The details can be read in the San Francisco Chronicle and at sfgate.com There is much to say, much that should be said, and much that must be said. In the meantime, it would be a blessing for the UFCW, Locals and members alike,to demonstrate their individual and collective support for the Bologna family. Accounts have been established for contributions to the family: The Anthony Bologna Children's Fund No. 934-426443-9 c/o Washington Mutual Bank 845 Laurel St. San Carlos CA 94070 and The Bologna Family Fund c/o Wells Fargo Private Client Services MacNo. A0101-071 420 Montgomery St. 7th Floor San Francisco, CA 94104 God bless Tony, Michael and Matthew. |

Just a moment to say thank you to the UNCHARTED folks who have expressed their sympathy to the Bologna family.
Among others, Ross and the crew of his store sent a card with a most generous donation. Grazie mille!! Mike Borstel, president of UFCW 101, has sent out a letter of other UFCW Locals requesting their assistance to the Bologna family. I trust the response will be as generous. My understanding is that the crew and customers of Draeger's have also been overwhelming in their support for Mrs. Bologna, as has the San Francisco Police Department with which Tony had relationships in his years of coaching kids in baseball and basketball. Thanks again to all. |
