According to a report in the Toronto Star, the RCMP is considering a criminal investigation of the UFCW's Canadian Commercial Workers Industry Pension Plan. Read more.

It is about friggin' time.

The fellas just can't seem to accept that people have the right to know and the right to ask questions about thier pension. Problems arise when questions aren't answered or bullshit slotted in, in place of answers.

That in itself is reason enough to question the integrity of any plan and it's administration, add to that irregularities such as those reported in the fsco report and it's reason for serious concern for plan participants.

a) The pissed off screwed over people.
b) Those trying to save their own ass.

The truth shall set them free... or at least cut down on the headaches.

But there are always those few lovable crooks that want to brave the shit-tsunami coming at them.

Hey CCWIPP guys! Inside tip for ya... invest in the paper bag business.

What I find remarkable is that the information that got the RCMP's interest did not come from the FSCO. Clearly, somebody out there thought the report raised enough questions about possible criminality to bring it to the RCMP's attention and the RCMP is taking it seriously enough to go on the record saying that they are considering a criminal investigation. Yet the FSCO couldn't be bothered to alert the law enforcement agency itself? I think they need to be called on the carpet for this.

FSCO can go to hell... or we can bring hell to FSCO. Either way, they deserve a few headaches. Payback for the headache I get everytime I read a quote from one of them. This time it's Rowena again...

Quote:
"If we had found explicit evidence of criminal activity, we would have handed it over to the appropriate law enforcement body," said Rowena McDougall, the commission's senior manager of public affairs.

The CCWIPP have broken every rule in the FSCO book for years and have yet to be charged by the puppet agency. So what's their test for 'explicit evidence'. Do they have to be there at the CCWIPP ATM in the Bahamas when friends like Ron Kelly make a withdrawal?

Rowena is either totally ignorant of what evidence has been presented to the FSCO, or she’s deliberately spewing Vaseline in hopes that she can keep the FSCO crew sufficiently lubed and slippery.

They might be hard to grab hold of, but dorks coated in Vaseline burn like candles when their gig goes up in flames.

Rowena must have a lot of that vaseline stuff. Seems they're shipping it in from Ron's castle in lieu of all those ATM receipts.

Yes, yes Row dear but you're not in any position to find explicit evidence of criminal wrongdoing. All you can do is go on what a reasonable person would do - which is, if there's smoke you call the friggin' Fire Dept. What is explicit evidence of a fire anyway?

This deceptive statement is pretty much all I needed to conclude that the FSCO is protecting the CCWIPP boys and going out of its way to keep them from being held accountable for their actions.

Too late Rowena, Dave, Dr. Bob, Lynda and all the rest of you overpaid under-worked collaborators. The end is near thanks to the Internet.

Rowena, Rowena. Rolling Eyes If you even suspect stuff like money laundering you have a legal obligation to alert FINTRAC. If stuff looks and smells peculiar, you have a moral obligation to truck the info over to the police. If you figure that tax evasion might be happening, you must call in the CRA.

Who the hell do you guys think that you are?! Evil or Very Mad

Don't lay that shit on the people or you'll be forced to chew it and swallow it when the truth comes out.

Hey Rowena, while Julina works on a few things...

can you put together a fun statement about the continuing CCWIPP mondo condo investment? The local one that the city just torpedoed? Maybe see what the ROI is so far and let us know how the "master plan" on that one is doing.

Take your time, sweetie. If you need help, just ask. Very Happy

According to Row - widespread violations of a "[$1.4 billion] plan [which] provides pension benefits to 290,000 current and former members" is not "clear evidence of a crime".

Regulator slams pension's paperwork. No documents to support investments. Millions went to Caribbean properties. Media coverage of the UFCW's Canadian pension debacle continues in today's Toronto Star.

Be proud you UFCW/CCWIPP boys. You can now say that you got fucked on Valentine's Day! Always nice, huh?
