My son sent me this link to a Twisted Christmas. I don't know if this is sacrilegious or if it's ceremoniously refreshing! _________________ "Speaking the truth in times of universal deceit is a revolutionary act." George Orwell |

Damn I do miss that ENERGY!! Can I share as well? Last night we had to wait for rock icon Axl Rose and his GnR cover band to finally get on stage at 11:40PM and play til 2:00AM (causing thousands to miss the last subway home). It was a fun night you all sadly missed. But you gotta love the cell-phone-video-straight-to-youtube phenomenon... The whole concert has been already been posted in crappy bits and pieces. A few of them... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTuB36M6qIc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyVHqFUzvPY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fp6afolkEfM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZQRHNtO540 To actually hear the music in its original form get yourself this Christmas present _________________ Henri Ducard: Your compassion is a weakness your enemies will not share. Damn E, ain't you one lucky son of a 'sweet child'? We were just talking tonight about their concert above the border...glad you took part! From what I could tell from the videos, not much change! I think all their CDs are around here somewhere...not to mention old Napster downloads! _________________ "Speaking the truth in times of universal deceit is a revolutionary act." George Orwell |

Atu, this is an encore and better version just for you. Grab a beer!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rV9QJ2zD2Q Bill, you're invited to sing along as well. Here's your cheat sheet... Quote: Sweet Child O' Mine
She's got a smile that it seems to me Reminds me of childhood memories Where everything Was as fresh as the bright blue sky Now and then when I see her face She takes me away to that special place And if I'd stare too long I'd probably break down and cry Sweet child o' mine Sweet love of mine She's got eyes of the bluest skies As if they thought of rain I hate to look into those eyes And see an ounce of pain Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place Where as a child I'd hide And pray for the thunder And the rain To quietly pass me by Sweet child o' mine Sweet love of mine Where do we go Where do we go now Where do we go Sweet child o' mine _________________ Henri Ducard: Your compassion is a weakness your enemies will not share. Thanks E! I'll bet the wait you had was worth it huh? I heard they will have a new CD perhaps next year...I heard they were to perform a couple of new tunes at the concerts up there. Is it true? Did you hear anything new? _________________ "Speaking the truth in times of universal deceit is a revolutionary act." George Orwell |

The album Chinese Democracy still has no release date. I think only Brian Wilson's Smile (which took about 35 years to get released) was a more famous and longer-unreleased album. Axl is in first place now that Brian got his out to the public.
They played at least three 'new' tunes (last time Axl was here they also played a few). And they were well done. I'm at work so I can't link youtube vids at the moment, but a quick search using those album tracks will get you videos and sound clips of some of his newer stuff. I think Axl just needs to get a core group of music buddies that can put up with him long enough to actually learn and care about all the newer pieces. It'll happen... someday. I really don't mind waiting! _________________ Henri Ducard: Your compassion is a weakness your enemies will not share. Bruce Wayne: That's why it's so important. It separates us from them. |

I'm so envious E. Big GNR fan - from way back when cars had cassette players.
Did they play Civil War? What was the encore tune(s)? Cool video of Sweet Child btw. _________________ Time is on the side of the oppressed today, it's against the oppressor. Truth is on the side of the oppressed today, it's against the oppressor. You don't need anything else. - Malcolm X |

wm pasz wrote: Did they play Civil War? What was the encore tune(s)? Civil War and Estranged were two that I was hoping for but didn't make the cut. The encore was 'Chinese Democracy' (I think) followed by Paradise City which brought down the partially empty house (many missed half the show because of the last train that leaves at 1:30AM). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCJgu3AZba0 I didn't link this one earlier because the non-stop fireworks and the bad videographer singing don't help you hear much of it. On a side note, can we supply all the local 8 members with cell-phone cameras for their next union meeting? Try stopping that Jacques! They can just hit record (the video part is bonus... I'd watch the back of someone's head just to listen in). _________________ Henri Ducard: Your compassion is a weakness your enemies will not share. Bruce Wayne: That's why it's so important.
