The Stop and Shop grocery strike is now almost 1 week old. Over 31,000 union members walked. It looks like they are getting some really good outside support.
The strike got the attention of NPR, so that's nationwide coverage. They talked about the strong customer support (customers saying they supported the union and were tired of American workers being underpaid). But, even more important, they talked about the foreign ownership (Dutch). In the U.K., most shops are union and they are better paid than they are here. Unions are very much a part of business there and are respected. In fact, the boards of European companies have union representation seated. It's just standard procedure there. Here, unions are treated like dirt. It's become the American way, but the 'tide' may be turning.

and, maybe a union turn around is budding. Maybe workers are sick and tired of being sick and tired.
