I am suprised that the member who was fired without a union Rep on han didnt file a lawsuit on UFCW and Safeway .Thats why I always carry a pocket book with me .

My answer to your question is based on facts and it is the following: The union members did not know about "Weingarten Rights" in addition to that, the Local Union had intentional deprive the working members of the right to have a Shop Steward. Today the union members have one Shop Steward BUT THE STEWARD IS A "MANAGER" and the Steward was imposed upon the memberships by the Local 135 president Mickey Kasparian. Up until today because Mickey Kasparian incompetence to secure a date for arbitration,the case is pending arbitration. Charges have been file with the NLRB for failure to represent, case still open.
