hillary clinton is so totally out of touch with people who work and fight every day to make a living. She, apparently, brags about all the union support she has--but that is with the union leadership, not necessarily, with the rank and file. She really doesn't get it. Doesn't have a clue. And it shows.
I heard a speech she made last night and she's starting to parrot Bernie. That part she gets. I expect to hear much more of that. The difference is Bernie has lived labor support for 40 years. Despite what she is now trying to feed the electorate, she hasn't. Members are starting to see through her gold patina.

Bernie Sanders: “Why I Support Workers & Their Unions”

January 27, 2016

A number of news sources and politicians are calling Bernie Sander’s support of workers and their unions “radical.” Here is why it is not “radical” to support workers and why it has been lifelong conviction of Sanders to do it.

Hillary Clinton was a Wal-Mart Director for 6 Years

Posted by Emine Dilek on Saturday, June 20, 2015 ·

Excerpt:

During six years (1986 -1992) as a member of the Wal-Mart board of directors, Hillary Clinton remained silent as the world’s largest retailer waged a major campaign against the labor unions seeking to represent store workers.

John Tate who was one of Clinton’s fellow board members, was leading Wal-Mart’s anti-union efforts. Tate was also Wal-Mart’s executive vice president and served on the board with Clinton for four of her six years.

Tate favorite phrase was, as he admitted himself, “Labor unions are nothing but blood-sucking parasites living off the productive labor of people who work for a living.”

According to an ABC News report, published in 2008, Clinton appears in videotapes of the stockholder meetings where she never appears to defend the role of labor unions.

On the contrary, the tapes show Clinton in the role of a loyal company woman. “I’m always proud of Wal-Mart and what we do and the way we do it better than anybody else,” she said at a June 1990 stockholders meeting.

Clinton Offshore Fundraising Effort Being Co-Hosted by Walmart Lobbyist

Clinton has tried to distance herself from the company since leaving its board.

By Michael Arria / AlterNet February 9, 2016

Excerpt:

The events are being hosted by Clinton campaign treasurer Jose Villarreal, who has maintained close connections to Walmart and the Walton family for years. As the Huffington Post's Samantha Lachman detailed in 2015,

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/07/14/hillary-clinton-walmart_n_7714918.html

"Villarreal has spent decades on the boards of companies dominated by the Waltons, who remain a target of choice for the progressives whom Clinton's 2016 campaign is trying to win over.

He was the lead director at Walmart; a board member at First Solar, an energy company where the Waltons are the largest investors; and a board member at Teach for America, the KIPP Foundation and Leadership for Educational Equality, to which the Waltons also have strong ties."

Hillary Clinton is losing the votes of young women to Bernie Sanders

David Horsey

LATimes / February 11, 2016

Excerpt:

Interviews with young female Sanders supporters by various media outlets prior to the New Hampshire vote revealed Clinton’s problem. For these 20-something women, gender is not a major consideration.

Sure, they would like to see a woman become president and expect that to happen in the near future, but they are not especially enthused by the too-familiar female candidate asking for their votes this year.

These young women adore Bernie because he is honest, idealistic and bravely radical. They are shunning Hillary because, in their eyes, she is devious, boringly pragmatic and as conventional as mom jeans.

ufcw endorses hillary clinton. What the hell is that about? What the hell are they thinking? Bernie Sanders is pro union and pro workers rights. hillary cinton is pro hillary clinton--bottom line--pro wallstreet.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1017330125

hillary clinton doesn't want you to vote. wallstreet doesn't want you to vote, They want to make it as hard as possible. In some countries voting is mandatory and it is a holiday.

I found this to be very interesting---considering many unions have endorsed. The NAACP has decided not to endorse, at this time, either.

Big Win For Bernie: AFL-CIO Holds Off On Presidential Endorsement

The largest union federation in America won't be backing Hillary Clinton for now.

Dave Jamieson / 02/17/2016 03:08 pm ET | Updated 19 hours ago

Labor Reporter, The Huffington Post

Excerpt:

The biggest prize in labor endorsements won't be doled out next week as many people expected, according to an email from the president of the AFL-CIO labor federation obtained by The Huffington Post.

In his email, Richard Trumka told members of the AFL-CIO executive council that the body won't be holding a vote on whether to endorse Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders at its annual winter meeting in San Diego.

"Following recent discussion at the AFL-CIO’s Executive Committee meeting and subsequent conversations with many of you, I have concluded that there is broad consensus for the AFL-CIO to remain neutral in the presidential primaries for the time being and refrain from endorsing any candidate at this moment," Trumka said.

Local 5 Endorses Bernie Sanders for President

February 18, 2016

On February 17th the Local 5 Executive Board overwhelmingly endorsed Bernie Sander’s run for the White House. President Nunes noted that Sanders has been unbending in his support of workers his entire life.

To Sanders, backing up workers against Wall Street and the rich and powerful is not a political calculation to be trotted out at election time it’s a moral imperative. It was also discussed that the current status quo is not sustainable and a new way of doing things that reflects the needs of America’s working families must be put in place, Sanders is the person to accomplish this task.

Local 5 will be working with the campaign to elect Sanders.

If you have questions regarding volunteering to be part of this historic effort contact Mike Henneberry at mhenneberry@ufcw5.org.

Bernie Sanders Endorsed by Northern California Grocery & Food Workers Union

(Hayward, CA) The 28,000 member United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 5 has endorsed the candidacy of Bernie Sanders for President of the United States. In an overwhelmingly positive vote of the union’s executive board, on February 17, the decision was made to back the Senator from Vermont for the highest office in the land.

“We see this endorsement as a tribute to a career that has been uncompromising in support of America’s workers and their families” said Local 5 President John Nunes. “Bernie has been in the trenches with union members fighting for higher wages, better working conditions and better healthcare since he was Mayor of Burlington. We believe in having the backs of those that have ours. Hopefully he will have two distinguished terms in the oval office.”

Other executive board members added their enthusiastic support. Cassandra Hunter, a Local 5 member working at Lucky Stores in Union City shared “Bernie Sanders has always been on the side of working people. His support of labor is a natural extension of his belief that every American can excel if given the chance. His philosophy is to balance the scales between the rich and powerful and us. This is a value I share and will be fighting with my fellow members to get him elected.”

UFCW Local 5 represents 28,000 workers from Crescent City in the North to King City in the South and East to Dixon. The union represents agricultural workers in the States of California & Arizona. Members work in a variety of trades and for many employers. The union represents clerks and butchers at Safeway, Lucky-SaveMart, Mollie Stones and Lunardi’s among many other food retailers. Local 5 Members are also employed at the flagship Macy’s store at Union Square, Stonestown and the Pleasanton furniture gallery and in retail drug at Rite Aid. Local 5 food processing members are on the job at Gallo Salame, Evergood Sausage, Saags, Peerless Coffee.

The release of this last batch of emails show that hillary clinton has been lying to unions. Well, at least she's consistent. She lies to everyone. Lying while she was hustling unions for dollars.
What a good choice you made perrone. You big shot union guys endorsed a liar. Does it take one to know one.

Hillary Clinton’s Wal-Mart ties breed mistrust among liberals, boost Bernie Sanders
SIGN UP FOR

By Kelly Riddell - The Washington Times - Wednesday, February 17, 2016

Excerpt:

Unlike many other liberals, Mrs. Clinton and her husband have refused to publicly brutalize Wal-Mart over the company’s pay scale and anti-union policies, leaving her open to attacks from Mr. Sanders and his allies, who say it’s proof she can’t be trusted to carry the economic warfare message Democrats need this year.

Alice Walton, the daughter of Sam Walton, the founder of the chain of big box stores, gave Mrs. Clinton’s Democratic National Committee Victory Fund $353,000 in December, a contribution just made public last month. Before that she contributed $25,000 to the Ready for Hillary political action committee.

Hillary Clinton Just Received a Massive Donation from America’s Most Hated Oligarch

Amanda Girard | February 26, 2016

Excerpt:

Alice Walton, who ranks #12 in the Forbes 400 with more than $32 billion in personal assets, gave $353,400 to the Hillary Victory Fund — one of the funds backing her 2016 presidential campaign. While the donation was made in December of 2015, the record of her contribution wasn’t made public until this week. Alice is one of the most controversial Walton heirs. In 2011, she was arrested for drunk driving but ultimately got off scot-free despite having a blood alcohol level of 0.16. Walton famously told her arresting officers, “I’m Alice Walton, bitch!”

Exclusive: U.S. labor powerhouse to launch anti-Trump ad campaign
WASHINGTON | BY AMANDA BECKER
Reuters

Excerpt:

The AFL-CIO, the largest U.S. federation of labor unions, will launch digital attack ads targeting Republican front-runner Donald Trump next week as part of a multi-pronged effort to derail the New York billionaire’s bid for the White House and dampen union workers' enthusiasm for him.

Officials at the AFL-CIO, an umbrella group of 56 unions representing 12.5 million workers, told Reuters the ads will depict Trump as anti-union, and will appear on Facebook and Twitter.
