No Jeff, you brought it up, tell us what you think the manager would like to say to the rep and why. I'm guessing the manager at your workplace got piss'd at the rep or had some kind of altercation. That's extremely rare, especially if it's a ufcw workplace.

These two positions, 'rep' - 'manager' - have much in common, almost interchangeable and they rarely piss on each other. Depending on what happened, it could be a sign of some kind.

Well I think the manager would tell the union get out .The reason is our Rep filed a grievance on him for checking .

Jeff have you ever asked your local how many grievances are filed each year and how many are still outstanding? It's one thing to file a grievance, quite another to have it resolved.

I don't know that it's still the case but, grievances at ufcw local 1518 were kind of like saving frequent flyer points to be cashed in at the next set of negotiations - outstanding grievances are often wiped out/forgiven as part of the agreement when a new cba is ratified. In trade for what specifically is anyone's guess.

I often wondered if ufcw reps had grievance quotas to meet. Twisted Evil

Well I called the local because I noticed that management who is non-union was taking hours from members .The members got cut and management was upfront checking when they claim that 3 or more people in line is a surge in bussiness .Management would not call anyone upfront who is union and can check .I know of a lot of grievances that have been settled in the past !I also know I am the only one calls the union for anything .Meanwhile members brake the contract and dont even report anything .

We have the same problem in our store Jeff, except I'm not the pain in the ass you are by calling in the hours police everytime. Very Happy

Just kidding, way to go Jeff! Don't forget to follow up with the local on the grievance outcome - find out what or how the employer was disciplined for stealing from the members.
