Pay attention to the poisons you put into your body--and your kids' bodies.
Just so you know--most of the apple juice in this country comes from CHINA. http://www.alternet.org/food/12-fruits-and-vegetables-most-likely-be-contaminated-dangerous-pesticides _________________ one of the others |

These are the safer ones--less pesticides. http://www.alternet.org/food/18-foods-you-dont-need-buy-organic _________________ one of the others |

Yes, the true meaning of spam. As horrendous as this is, if the TTP evolves, our food issues will be even more grievous--as difficult as that can be believed.
Of course, the substance of this video exposes much more than just the disgusting food you are being sold. The vicious cruelty by the sick workers who do this sick ass job is so over the top. Anyone who knows anything about pigs knows they are highly intelligent and clean animals. Also, big money, corporate ag is doing everything is can to criminalize all proof (pictures, videos, recordings of any kind)to keep their customers/not customers from seeing any of the abuse, filth, potential disease they harbor. they want laws passed that will send people to prison for exposing THEIR crimes. Think about it. Put people in jail for video taping slaughter houses, but not bankers/wallstreeters who destroy the world economy. http://www.motherjones.com/environment/2015/11/pork-undercover-video-hormel-qpp _________________ one of the others |

Absolutely, too little too late and, if if wasn't so tragic, it would be laughable.
This chemicals issue was brought to their attention 10 years ago. The chemicals they banned have not been made here for years. BUT, the irony of this absurd fda move is that the packaging imported from other countries, and they are numerous, (gee, guess who one of them is--CHINA) do not have our regulation and are exactly what is banned here--have been banned here because cancer causing issues are no longer suspect, they are probable/confirmed. The chemical lobby is massive and strong. It's all about politics and profit over people. In our new free market capitalist economy, money talks. http://www.alternet.org/food/fda-bans-three-toxic-chemicals-food-packaging-too-little-too-late _________________ one of the others |

I became aware some time ago that if you buy pre-shredded cheese ,one of the main ingredients of shredded cheese is cellulose [plant fiber or more commonly known as wood chips].Buy cheese in blocks ,get a grater and that should eliminate the need for pre-fab wood roughage in your diet.Just a thought.

An alarming increase in the use of pesticides. Apparently, they think we can't get enough poison. Of course, we don't want to consume pesticides, but they are so harmful to air quality in farming communities and deadly for farm workers.
Imagine--a 500 pound INCREASE in 5 years. WTF! http://www.alternet.org/environment/despicable-ploy-monsanto-and-other-biotech-giants-increased-us-pesticide-use-over-500 And speaking of harmful..... It just kills me to see people microwave food in plastic containers. Use glass. Plastic leeches chemicals, especially when heated. Don't warm your kids food that way. http://www.alternet.org/personal-health/toxic-traps-when-these-7-types-plastic-are-dangerous _________________ one of the others Last edited by one of the others on Tue Mar 29, 2016 7:43 am; edited 3 times in total |

Congress is trying to make it harder to know if foods contain GMOs.

I have no clue why folks are so suddenly up in arms about GMOs. If it wasn't for GMO more than half the food we access wouldn't be. The only reasonable or legitimate GMO beef (npi) would be fearing food patents by huge conglomerates (Monsanto). The biggest threat to humanity would be for some asshole(s) hiding behind a corporation to own food.
Yeah, I don't get the phobia (unwarranted fear) surrounding genetically modified foods. We've been living off it for decades and decades. I also would hate to see the landscape littered with cows wearing GMO labels. ![]() _________________ Free speech is the whole thing, the whole ball game. Patents on food production by huge conglomerates notwithstanding, I really don't understand the uproar about the consumption - or labeling - of genetically modified foods. It's been and is the basis of modern food production - aka: bananas. And picture a landscape littered with labeled cows.
There's yet no conclusive evidence - good or bad - of GMO's long or short term health effects. There is however plenty of evidence pointing to harmful effects of all the chemicals routinely added to the food supply. Shit that's scientifically proven to be harmful. Not sure how the GMO controversy got it's wings but it does work to divert the conversation away from real harmful chemical additives in our food. Preservatives advantageous primarily for world trade but tend to have lost their advantage by the time they get to our fridge. Conglomerates (monsanto etc.) owning the food supply worries me, GMO foods not so much. _________________ Free speech is the whole thing, the whole ball game. I knew about honey. It stays good forever. Found in Pompeii--no problem. The incredible antimicrobial properties of honey--was used to treat wounds and embalm mummies. Just make sure you buy real honey, not the crap sent to us from China. Buy USA. It's more expensive, but it's real.
Interesting food facts. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/foods-that-never-expire_us_57b5f010e4b03d513686cbcb?section=& _________________ one of the others |
