Really, these guys are all the same. ufcw's crap about either hanley or fraser (or any other goof) being "elected" is beyond misleading. hanley is/was heir apparent, tho that it's so sudden is probably bonus for hanley. He's uncle Cliffie's hand picked boy. I think the story will start to emerge over the next several days. I don't think that sorry pile of bones is old enough to collect early retirement benefits, never mind full retirement benefits. The announcement is about the Former Chair of AFM Hospitality taking over the corner orifice at 61 International BLVD. It ain't about stick boy retiring. They were sort of forced to mention that fact 'cause people might ask how Wayne boy could fit in a chair that already if filled with a pile of agricultural by-product. I wonder if the pipe cleaner really meant that hangin' with the kids was his next option or whether he thinks he may be spending more time as a room mate of his uncle, cousins and Mr. Wine expert. I wonder if they'll be roomies in Canada or Florida?

Evans, son of Cliff Evans was employed by the prestigious Toronto union-side law firm of Cavalluzzo, Hayes, McIntyre and Shilton. Here is a page from their web site directory of lawyers that shows John-boy's mug and gives a brief bio of the "General Counsel to the United Food and Commercial Workers Union". But if you check their directory today Junior Evans is conspicuous by his absence. A call to the Cavalluzzo office confirms that his extension has been disconnected. With papa Cliff bailing off his lofty perch as CCWIPP trustee and Chairman of the Investment Committee back in October and cousin Mikey bailing off his perch as Canadian Director of the United Fools and their Cousins Union, gee what's up? I can't for the life of me imagine Fraser giving up his 6 digit gig to spend more time with wifey and the kids. He could spend as much time as he wanted with them while he was employed, the lazy bastard. This didn't happen without the blessing and probably instigation of the International. Perhaps they were tired of his idiocy, his poor handling of the crackdown on reformers, the ridiculous damage control effort about the CCWIPP fiasco, and well there's just so many things that would lead me to fire this guy it's hard to list them all. Hanley is no better than Fraser. He was the heir apparent since he got the plum Pres job at Local 175 and his old man Bill (the former Pres of 175) was first in line to kiss Cliff Evans butt when the Cliff-god was setting himself up to rule like Jimmy Hoffa back in the 80's. He's a dumb weasel and, considering he was on the Board of Directors of the bankrupt AFM Corporation and part of the lunacy that has made the CCWIPP pension plan what it is today, I'm sort of surprised that they would replace one dumb weasel with another. But then again, Hanley's been promised the job and knows where a lot of bodies are buried - so they pretty much have to. I have a feeling they don't want any head lines screaming, "UFCW Canadian Director gets..." Some shit is goin' down that's for sure. On another note: When a kahuna leaves, one usually finds the troughers with their faces planted deep in the departing one's butt getting one last kiss and a whiff of power before the fat ass runs off to spend the pillage. Mikey and his cousin John Boy's asses are no where to be seen. Must be the hemeroid factor. C'mon Brookie, wax eloquent about all the Mikey means to you and the labour movement and how much he'll be missed and that there's always a job waiting at 1518 or 247 if Mike needs one--and he will need one. Brooke et al, a Hello to Wayneboy just isn't right without a goodbye to stickboy. Hey, and you're not alone, Brooke. Everyone else simply did as they were told and pasted the stupid media release on their web sites. One dork didn't know when to stop pasting and even put in an explanation of what the UFCW thinks it's really about.
