Union and company negotiators are set to restart negotiations for a new contract on Thursday December 12.

The unions have used the time since the last meetings to put together a comprehensive list of contract demands which will be presented and explained to management.

Once management and union proposals have been formally exchanged they will be posted on the website in the same way they were during the last negotiations.

@ President Lind, Terry Gonzales and Esai Alday, here it is Sunday, December 22, 2013, ten (10) days since your last negotiations meeting with SaveMart!

What in the hell is going on?

Where's Local 5's Contract Demands to the Company so the member's can review them as previously promised?

Like I said--ufcw, the gift that on keeps giving. There was never any intention to negotiate a contract in December. First of all, the company was given the holidays, period. Secondly, Working in December gets in the way of ufcw's holiday. Thirdly, The union's game is to tell the members what they think they (the members) want to hear.
That's all folks.

Posted January 2, 2014.

Unions and Lucky and Save Mart to Reconvene Contract Talks in January.

Unions and Company met in December.

Locals 5, 8 and 648 are set to recommence negotiations for a new contract with Lucky-Save Mart in January.

This follows up on a meeting with the company in mid-December at which the company introduced their new lead negotiator. The new spokesman comes out of the electrical industry and has no experience in retail grocery.

The company advised they were unprepared at the meeting to exchange proposals.

The unions used the meeting as an opportunity to reiterate its positions with particular emphasis on restoration of full time jobs and restoration of reclassified members to their former positions.

The unions concluded that instead of wasting the meeting, due to a lack of exchanged proposals, that it would be better to have the new negotiator get the primary concerns of the unions directly so there was no confusion later on.

Meetings set Throughout January

The next meeting with company will be on January 15.

Additional meeting dates are tentatively scheduled for January 17, 30 and 31.

The unions have prepared a comprehensive list of proposals which will be submitted to management in order to begin a dialogue to reach a tentative settlement.

The proposals are based on input from the membership prior to this round of negotiations and suggestions from the last set of talks.

Your Role

Your attention and participation in the process continues to be vital to the success of the talks. If you have an idea for inclusion in the negotiations forward to mhenneberry@ufcw5.org.

Please monitor the website and Local 5′s Facebook page for progress, meeting announcements and opportunities for involvement.
A couple of things.....

@ Ron, Terry and Esai......

What in the hell does that mean?????

How about the rest of the Concessions remaining in the Savemart / Lucky Contract?

Please explain.
What is Local 5's position concerning the permanent $5.00 per hour reduction in pay for "some" of our SaveMart / Lucky Member's?

Is this going to be a "strike issue" for Local 5 "if" the Company does not re-instate / return that $5.00 per hour back to our member's?

If not, why not?

What is the position that UFCW Local 8 and 648 are taking concerning this issue?

Additionally,....

@ Ron, Terry and Easi, what happened to our previous position / tough talk, wherein we say...

Why the change in tone???

and....

Why haven't you posted the Contract Demands on the website yet?

Keep in mind that We have already been made aware of the following pledge / position from the Terry Gonzales / Esai Alday's You Tube Video.

@ Ron Lind, Terry Gonzales, Esai Alday, the Loveall Regime at Local 8 and Local 648. As you enter into Round 2 with Savemart / Luckys, I thought I would remind you about your Billionaire Buddy once again!

Now that we have had the opportunity to review Local 5's and Local 8's most recent website update's concerning these very serious "Round 2" Negotiations with SaveMart / Luckys, let's take a look at what strikes me as "Non-Sensical Bull Shit" being posted on their respective websites as it pertain to these negotiations!

First, let's take a look at the following excerpt from Local 5's website update.

Quote:

The unions used the meeting as an opportunity to reiterate its positions with particular emphasis on restoration of full time jobs and restoration of reclassified members to their former positions.

What in the hell does that mean?????

Secondly, let's take a look at the following excerpt from Local 8's website update.

@ Ron Lind, Terry Gonzales, Esai Alday (Local 5), including Jacques Loveall / His Regime (Local Eight) and Dan Larson (newly elected President at Local 648, here is very simple question that requires a very simple answer.

Quote:

On behalf of our SaveMart / Lucky Members,...

What is UFCW Local's 5, 8 and 648's collective position(s) concerning the permanent $5.00 per hour reduction in pay for "some" of our SaveMart / Lucky Member's?

Is this going to be a "strike issue" for all three (3) UFCW Local Union's, "if" the Company does not re-instate / return that $5.00 per hour back to our member's?

If not, why not?

How about the rest of the Concessions remaining in the Savemart / Lucky Contract including the Stabilization Agreements?

Start acting like a Labor Union and fix the mess that ultimately Ron Lind, Jacques Loveall and Michael Sharpe created by negotiating these unprecedented Concessionary / Stabilization Agreements!

To anyone within Local 5's hierarchy that gives a Shit, you "allegedly" had a Negotiations meeting scheduled with Savemart / Luckys for January 15, 2014?

What took place?

Better yet, where are the Contract Demands / Proposals Local 5 promised to post on their website?

@ Local 5 Hierarchy, furthermore, why did you remove the above posted update concerning Savemart / Lucky Negotiations from your website?

@ Local 5 Hierarchy, how about updating you Local 5 website link for your Collective Bargaining Department!

Quote:

http://ufcw5.org/bargaining-department

You need to update your last post concerning
SaveMart / Lucky Negotiations!

Lucky/SaveMart/FoodMaxx
UFCW Local 5 and Lucky-Save Mart have signed an agreement extending all terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement, including health and welfare, wages and working conditions, through the conclusion of bargaining over a new contract. FoodMaxx has been on extension since June 30, 2011. Locals 5, 8 and 648 will be bargaining with SaveMart on November 11th for FoodMaxx and Lucky/SaveMart contracts. The membership will be advised of any developments coming out of these meetings

Your attention and participation in this process will be important to the success of the talks. If you have an idea for inclusion in the negotiations please forward to mhenneberry@ufcw5.org. Please continue to monitor the website and Local 5s Facebook page for progress, meeting announcements and opportunities for involvement.

Finally, if and when you "ever" post the Contract Demands / Proposals on Local 5's website, how about providing Local 5's Savemart / Lucky Member's with an answer to the following questions!!!!!

Quote:
On behalf of our SaveMart / Lucky Members,...

What is UFCW Local's 5, 8 and 648's collective position(s) concerning the permanent $5.00 per hour reduction in pay for "some" of our SaveMart / Lucky Member's?

The Savemart / Lucky Member's deserve an answer from President's Lind (5), Loveall (Eight) and Larson (648) "up front" before the affected Union's go any further!

Love seeing Ron Lind's protege and presidential candidate, Terry Gonzalas. (who is suspiciously not identified on the far right, bargaining committees pic on ufcw's contract update site http://ufcw5.org/lucky-save-mart-bargaining)

Terry is in top form, smug, arrogant as always... Terry mistakes his own arrogance for confidence. Just like president Ron Lind.

I must point out as a look through the companies proposals, they are suspiciously "lite". If I was a betting man, Save Mart's "labor consultant" (aka union-buster) is attempting to stall negotiations and prolong negotiations as long as possible. -Which is only to the companies benefit.

UFCW's negotiation committee knows it too. Shit is about to hit the fan... But, they do not want the Save Mart members to know that. I have my popcorn ready for this dope show.

Rolling Eyes
But keep in mind, Terry's ufcw team is more worried about keeping THEIR jobs safe then yours. You need to only look at your past contracts for proof of that, Save Mart workers. The proof is in the pudding. In the end I honestly hope it all works out for the best for the workers. Good luck, guys.

Friend of Misery- Rolling Eyes you are seeing things the way you would like to see them.Rolling Eyes You should get your facts straight, Terry Gonzales is not in the picture.

The person you are referring to is Lucky and E Board member Tony Garcia.

Here is what I am "seeing" and I LIKE IT: Shocked

@notmydues: My apologies. I stand corrected. It is Tony and not Terry. They do look similar though... As far as everything else you stated..I'm going to have to disagree with you. You'll see things diffrently within 3-6 months. Remember my warning.... Billonair corperation CEO's, backing union-busters, have expenentully more money and reasources than a union. They can "wait it out" and scheme much longer then you can. P.S. Esai and company are just telling you what you want to hear.. Just like a used car sales man, trying to get the drop on another sucker. Trust me WAIT AND SEE....
