WARNING LOCAL 8 MEMBERS! YOUR ABOUT TO BE REAPED (or RAPED) AGAIN BY JACQUES LOVEALL AND HIS GANG OF PICK POCKETS!
After the complete sell-out of the Rite Aid workers you'd think that the leaders at Local 8 couldn't get much lower! Well think again! This week members of Local 8 got notice of a huge dues increace coming their way! See details here Rite Aid workers screwed! So Cal grocery members looking at another strike! Corporate HR people taking over the Trust Fund! And all Loveall and his band of merry pick pockets can think to do is reap the members for more dues? It doesn't get more shameless than this! Here's a small overview at what is coming members way... Quote: $1.50 per week for retail members earning $17- $23.99 per hour; and $2.00 per week for retail members earning $24 or more per hour, effective Jan 1, 2012, and shall "increace" two percent on an annual basis effective Jan 1, 2013
Note: There's no way in hell that enough members will be able to attend these meeting to vote this increase down! WOW ! Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy.
Looks like the Local 8 officers will be looking to give themselves another raise, huh ? So, what year will the 2% increases stop ? |

As we all wait for the predictable outcome of UFCW Local 8's Dues Increase Vote, I thought it would be appropriate to examine how Local 8 Members, with the passage of their Dues Increase Vote, will provide the Loveall Regime with.... Quote: THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING!! Let us review / breakdown the following Dues Increase information taken directly from Local 8's Voice Of Action for August 2011... Quote: The proposed dues increase shall represent 50 cents per week for retail members earning up to $12.99 per hour and wholesale division, communtiy agency, and healthcare members...
$1.00 per week for retail members earning $13.00 - $16.99 per hour and wine and distillery division members... $1.50 per week for retail members earning $17.00 - $23.99 per hour... $2.00 per week for retail members earning $24.00 or more per hour... Here is the language that I previously referred to as THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING. Once again, taken directly from the Local 8 Voice of Action for August 2011. The above Dues Increase shall become..... Quote: Effective January 1, 2012, and shall increase two percent on an ANNUAL BASIS effective January 1, 2013...
The Executive Board shall adjust dues rates for individual classifications to establish and maintain consistency among industries, employers, classifications and geography. Additionally, let us not forget about the UFCW International Per Capita Increases that will be implemented as mandated by the UFCW International Constitution (Article 18 International Revenue / A.3)! |

Probably......???? |

To emphasize my point lets take a look at a side-by-side salary comparison for "some" of Local 8's Staff. Said salaries were taken directly from UFCW Local 8's 2010 including Local 8 and "former" UFCW Local 1288 & 1036 2006 LM2 Reports. Quote: BTW...
