Well no kidding the judge ruled against plastering private property with paper, how dumb is ufcw. It's against the law to deface private property, who knew? Advising people to break the law and then advertising it?? brilliant just f**king brilliant.

Scott Schroeder wrote: Any other UFCW members out there hear about this strike from your UFCW leaders yet? Scott, I received this e-mail form my friend Pedro UFCW local 1442 On August 2, UFCW locals and our allies across the country will join together for a coordinated day of online action against Mott’s. Together, we’ll show Mott’s that the American people won’t stand for unchecked corporate greed and inhuman treatment of workers. The work stoppage was caused as a direct result of the Mott’s executives (a subsidiary of Dr. Pepper Snapple Group) unfair labor practices as they tried to peel away good jobs and wages, including not bargaining in good faith. The company had publicly declared an impasse and plans to implement their last contract terms, which offered nothing but a reduction in hourly wages and drastic healthcare and pension concessions for the skilled, dedicated workforce at the Williamson manufacturing. http://www.ufcw770.org/ Scott, maybe Mr. Lovell is in another time zone? Inside Lurker wrote: A federal judge has ordered the United Food and Commercial Workers International, which is on strike at a Wayne County apple products plant, from putting up leaflets and fliers on Mott’s products in grocery aisles. This is not the first time this year that the UFCW has lost an important court case striping union members of critical rights. Quote: Jacques Loveall, president of the union local that picketed the store, said the union would probably appeal to the state Supreme Court.
"This unfortunate ruling diminishes the rights of working people to express their grievances and solicit the public's support," he said. Pro-union law struck down by appeals court These cases bring up a interesting question... Just how "powerless" is the UFCW? _________________ I will believe corporations are people when Texas executes one! |

Ross you make a good point, but if this is indeed the case then why are the majority of todays UFCW members living at poverty levels? Is it possible Ross that all these "powerful friends" of the UFCW want only 2 classes of people in this country, the ruling class(them) & the working poor(us), just like their partners on the right side of the aisle? _________________ I will believe corporations are people when Texas executes one! |

In Mott’s Strike, More Than Pay at Stake

Scott, I am actually surprise that you asked; I was under the impression that you knew the answer by now. Well, Scotts my dear friend, lets assume that you really don’t know. My answer, the nature of our work is to serve the public therefore we are “Slaves” Service: from the Latin servitium “Slavery” (the occupation of a servant). While we are at work, we need to please the costumer “Costumer is always right” if we fail our obligation to the costumers, we become an impediment to the prosperity of the share holders. When we are at work we can’t express our opinion/point of views, because the genius “our managers” do not wish to accept opinion/point of views by their subordinates that make us also slaves. In the eyes of our union officials we are money making machine that constantly contribute to the union official’s bountiful life style, “without any consideration to our social status” the only thing that matter to the union is that we pay our dues. If that wasn’t true, our UFCW fearless leaders would have given the membership better wages, better benefits, and better working conditions. After 20 years with the company, my friend “Pedro” works 27 hours in six days and his schedule changes every week, making impossible for him to have a second job, therefore he rely on government assistance in order to make ends meet. UFCW endorsed: U.S.A. President Barack Obama, U.S. Secretary of Labor, Hilda Solis, and, Speaker of the U.S.A House of Representative Nancy Pelosi, United State Senator Majority Leader, Harry Reid, and the idea was that, they would facilitate the passage of employee free choice act, guess what? “It will not pass”. However, the UFCW continue to contribute “your money/my money” to the politician pockets. In the eyes of the Government, the individual social status makes no difference to them, they don’t give rats’ ass as long that we pay our income tax. Our jobs why do we stay? Because we are content with the status quo, or, because we don’t know any better and we are afraid of changes. Middle class? Union jobs = the American dream: Own a Home, have a swing in the back yard for the kids to play, B.B.Q. Hot dogs/hamburgers, go see a baseball/football game, drive a Chevy/ Harley Davidson, have Social Security and Pension at retirement age. Today, Middle class; no longer a reality, now union jobs = poverty wages! Looking for a glimmer of hope to a better future? The outcome of the current Mott”s labor dispute will definitely give a clear indication of our future with the UFCW. Unless our labor leaders have the courage, to grab management by the testicles, and squeeze them until their eye balls come out of the eye pockets, the middle class is nothing more than ancient history. Scott, I hope this answer your question. _________________ " I always wondered why somebody doesn't do something about that. Then I realized I was somebody" Lilly Tomlin. |

Larry Young, Dr Pepper Snapple’s chief executive, said, “From the beginning of our negotiations, we sought an agreement that supported our business, and we’re very pleased with this resolution.” He added that the deal would “bring our costs in Williamson in line” and help ensure continued growth.
