Captain Jack's Hot Rods !
Let me give you a back ground on why I hated working on cars. My Step dad had a 1932 ford Pickup and some Harleys, would make me go watch "Walking Tall and American Graffiti" at the drive in. Now as a kid I hated him smoking in the Garage and talking smack about people of different colors and making me listen to Shan Na Na Music! So I hated everything about working on cars and the grease mess and banging of knuckles. So in 9th Grade I had to choose an elective it was "Auto Shop or Home Ec." Hmm I figured If I took Home Ec I would be in class with all girls and I might get Girl Friend and get lucky. So I didn't take shop and I didn't get a girl friend nor did I get laid that year and I had a 1967 Ford Thunderbird in my drive way I didn't know how to fix. Ok my plan SUCKED. 10th grade was better for me I got a job paid for car repairs and got the girls who thought I was over 18. So jump ahead 15 years I find myself under the wing of Captain Jack- I am a Union Organizer and I am very happy being an organizer. But the boss man has this thing for classic cars and hot rod which I liked but did not like working on cars at all. Captain jack had anywhere from 4 staff work cars to another 4 to 8 Classic cars and it pissed me off that one day I had to become a fucking Mechanic and Car Detail guy for Captain Jack. I would have to go into the office dress un slacks wing tip shoes and dress shirt then with out warning get called to go to Jack's House and detail-clear and hand wash his hot rods. Never any warning on this so I could bring sweats or shorts and t -shirt. I'd have to work for several hours to hand wash these hot rods then be expected to be ready to go to dinner with Jack. Without a shower and sweaty from workin or washing the hot rods! Oh yea I had to be able to work on these cars, minor repairs and electrical work, but I hated this kind of work. His 9954 Granite Crest Court home in Granite Bay, California pull up some of the satellite photos from web sites of the Earth that were taken from 1998 to 2002 you will see my Bonnieville in his drive way and a "person hand washing a hot rod" it was me and it was his hot rods in the photo, you can see in those photo's from space take at the same time Jacques Porsches and his Gray Cady Limo parked in front of my 118 Wills Road Studio in Roseville . Jacques refuse to pay me even $1. for storing his cars at my home or Studio. So I was forced to clean-hand wash detail Jack's Hot rods against my will and it was not in my job description this was done during the week and even on week ends as he had so many hot rods. The incident where he came at me with the box cutter and tried to slash my throat before Aprils wedding to Derek Steele had to do with his 1954 Caddy Convertible that Joe Ciotti, Adam Loveall and I picked up and drove back for him from Slovang, California we took Jacks BMW 740 IL and drove down on 588 time and I drove the BMW back Joe and Adam drove the 1954 Caddy back in front of me. Now this Cady was picked up at a private Airport near Slovang and I was told Jack "Flew Down" a day before to look at the 1954 Caddy and close the deal. I knew this was possible since he used the plane to fly him and I down near Fresno, Jack didn't tell me why were going to this little airport, I sat on the plane Jack came back said drive those old folks back to their home and then drive the 1949 Caddy back to Granite Bay. Jack gave me a brief case with $16,000.00 cash and told me not to pay those old folks more than $11,000.00 for the 1949 caddy. Jack got back on the 588 plane and flew off leaving me without introduction to the old couple and I was wondering if the deal didn't go down how would I get back home then I though I have a brief case with $16,000.00 in Cash I can get back to Roseville with that much Cash! Nice couple and Jack hammered them into paying $5,000.00 Less than they were asking. Jack did this on every hot rod he bought he would fuck the seller and do dirty tricks to get the asking price way down. I had to drive this Caddy back I already worked an 8 hour day before I got on the plane and now I had 4 hours to drive back. The gas gauge didn't work and I ran out of gas as I got to Sacramento at 11:30 p.m. I got someone to bring me can of gas but there was no gas cap on this caddy. took me 20 mins to figure out the gas cap was hidden in the left tail light. Jack didn't tell me and it made my work day longer. He laugh that I didn't know how in the fuck was I suppose to know since this was a rare Torpedo back 1949 Caddy. Jack had this mint condition caddy turned into a street rod which was a crime to me to ruin this car and he had Don Hunstein famous auto body guy of Sacramento do the chop top and paint on this 1949 caddy He lived in a apt. in his south Sacramento shop and I had to drive Jack there and I was sent all of the time to check on the car and other hot rods Jack had there. All of this bullshit with Jack's hot rods -street rods I had to deal with for him and I was even forced to go to ALL of the car shows when jack had one of these cars in the show. I had to do this on UFCW 588 time and I had no choice I would have been FIRED if I had refused and I would drive Jack's 588 car he would drive the hot-street rod to the show and I'd be there all day with Jack. While I learned MORE ABOUT WORKING ON CARS THIS WAS NOT MY JOB AND I RESENTED BEING FORCED TO NOT WORK ON 588 STUFF AND BE A JACKS PIT CREW- JACK NEVER PAID ME FOR MY TIME. Jack had "Lifts' put in his 5 car garage in order to store 7 to 8 cars at his Granite Bay home and the rest of the cars, boats and ski mobiles were stored at the UFCW 588 Jet hanger at the Lincoln airport. I had to start all of these things 2 times a week plus hand wash the hot rods-boats ski mobiles and the UFCW 588 cars he had I had to take to the Car wash 2 times week. Mondays and Fridays where shuffling cars back and forth then hand washes. If Jack and Patty were out using a car on a Friday and I could not get the car for 1 hour (15 minutes drive each way plus 30+ minutes at the car wash) I would have to get it washed on Saturday (If the car was free) and then if I encountered the Old man when dropping the car off he would find other shit to do at his house for me, like wash windows, changes lights, ac/ filters set clocks clean garage,Pick up dog shit in the back yard (I remember just wining a 10-J injunction against Canned Food Grocery Outlet 6 week NRLB trial as the only Lawyer representing UFCW 588 in court and then soon after I was ORDERED to pick up Dog shit in the President of the union's back yard and wondering What the fuck am I doing picking up dog shit ? did I fuck up somewhere???? If it was not Jack's cars and house I was forced to work at it was Desiree or Mike Loveall's homes baby sitting they don't have kids I was baby sitting these grow kids of Jack's! and forced to do work at their homes on things they should have know how to do on their own. I even had to deal with their Cars, dogs and problems. It goes on and on..... all on UFCW 588 time I was on. |

Looks like the Mercury he got after I left.
Leslie his sec. had posted on line "AD'S" for Jack's 1949 Cady called "Sweet N Low" (Jack used Sweet and Low in his tea) and the AD was of photos I took in the past in his driveway I even waters the driveway down to give it a "WET LOOK" and the contact Number of (916) 786-0588 Ext. for Lesilie who would always answer the calls as "President Loveall's Office" so if you didn't know you didn't know what he was president of. All of those called answer ad's for Jack's Hot Rods done on UFCW 588 time-employees and phones. The 1949 Cady photos are still on line some where do a sreach you'll find them. Sweet N Low won trohpies at car shows. |

This will be towards the bottom of the list under: STREET ROD CONVERTIBLE (1940-1948) 1ST ..... 1926 ..... JACK LOVEALL ..... GRANITE BAY, CA ..... 40 FORD ..... YELLOW This was the last Hot Rod he purcashed before I was gone. Nice yellow 1940 Ford pick up convertable. I was called to meet him at the Longs Drugs store parking lot on Hazel and East Rosville Parkway early in the moring I had my wife drive me as I had to drive Jack's Sedan back to his house as Jack was gonig to drive the 1940 Ford after it came off the tranpost truck. This was the first time he did not have a transport truck drop the hot rods at his home as I think people on his court were getting pissed off at the semi traler trucks dropping off Classic and hot rod cars a few times each month those trucks were to big for the streets in Grantie Bay Hills. |
